Waters Green Medical Centre has served the primary health care needs of over sixty thousand patients in the Macclesfield area since it opened in 2006. It houses six general practices and provides a host of other clinical and support services under one roof.
The aim of the Friends of Waters Green group is to improve the health of Macclesfield through volunteering, as well as offering fulfilling volunteering opportunities to members of the community.
As volunteers with Friends of Waters Green, we help patients in a number of different ways, including:
- Welcoming visitors to the Medical Centre and give directions to our various surgeries and departments
- Responding to requests from those people who require a little extra assistance to accompany them to the required department leaving them in the care of the department receptionists
- Sourcing and providing health and social care information to complement the advice given by medical and nursing staff
- Providing information displays about current health related topics
